Jennifer Kurtz joined the Serving Seniors team as a full-time Luzerne / Wyoming County ombudsman. Jennifer joins us after advocating for nursing home residents for four years as a volunteer certified ombudsman. She was a member of the PA Ombudsman Volunteer Task Force and has written several articles for The Advocate, a PA ombudsman newsletter. She brings a passion for advocating for the long-term care consumers of her community.
Prior to joining Serving Seniors, Jennifer worked in several fields, including long-term care as a resident life associate; education as a substitute teacher; mental health as a case worker, group therapist, and adult daily living skills counselor; and publishing as a social sciences journal production editor/proofreader.
She holds a B.A. in psychology from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre and resides with her family in Drums, Pa.
