Serving Seniors Inc. Celebrates J.P. McGowan’s Achievement of National Certified Guardianship Designation
Scranton, PA – December 10, 2024 – Serving Seniors Inc. is proud to announce that J.P. McGowan, Interim Guardianship Coordinator, has earned the prestigious National Certified Guardianship (NCG) designation. This certification, awarded by the Center for Guardianship Certification, recognizes McGowan’s expertise, ethical commitment, and professional standards in the field of guardianship.
J.P. has been a vital member of the Serving Seniors team since 2016, following a distinguished 34-year career with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. In his role as Regional Director of the Bureau of Consumer Protection in Scranton, he managed investigations and prosecutions of consumer fraud cases across 17 counties, safeguarding the rights and interests of countless individuals.
At Serving Seniors Inc., J.P. leads guardianship of estate and power of attorney matters, providing dedicated and compassionate service to clients navigating complex legal and financial challenges. His commitment to ensuring the well-being and dignity of older adults is an inspiration to the organization and the community.

A lifelong learner, J.P. holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Scranton and a Juris Doctor from the Dickinson School of Law. Beyond his professional commitments, J.P. has a passion for the arts, actively participating in local community theater. He is a past president of Actors Circle, a nonprofit theater group in Scranton, and continues to contribute to the vibrant cultural scene in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
J.P. resides in Moosic with his wife, Jeannine, where he balances his professional responsibilities with a deep connection to his community.
